The Birth of the Bicycle Water Bottle

Modern bicycle enthusiasts will surely appreciate this early design of an unbreakable bottle. As indicated by La Nature, the popularity of sports, especially bicycling, in recent years (i.e. late 19th century) created the need for refreshing drinks, “usually kola-based,” which allow amateur riders to endure fatigue with more ease. But the very nature of the exercise presented danger to the vessels containing such liquids… Cork bottle to the rescue!
